Pink Sprocket Racing caught up with Clody this week. She is the girl behind the scenes at the Women's East Canadian nationals, helping to put the events on. Without her and other girls the series would not exist.

Tell us a little bit about the 2013 Women’s Canadian Nationals

I don’t know where to start, there is so much to say about this past couple weeks. It went good for sure, we had lots of fun and great prize for the girls. We had many riders on the line, the serie keeps growing and I would say the talent too.

We had girls from everywhere, even some fast one from the states. The 3 rounds championship started at Gopher Dunes, made a stop at Sand Del Lee and ended up at Deschambault. We had 3 sand tracks with really warm weather and 20 min motos. We couldn’t have made it without our great sponsors (Forma Boots, Deft Family, Ktmduroy, KutvekAmerika, TroyLeeDesign, The DNA Agency, Mxgirls, Garage SD, Garage Pro-Moteur, Tech-Care Suspension, Cycle North, HB cycle and Jolene Van Vught.

Is it hard to organize the series and race at same time ?

It is so hard that I didn’t even race my second heat at Deschambault, I had to run everywhere and make sure things were ready for the last podium of the season, we had lots of awards to give away plus overall of the day and overall of the championship. But if I compare to last year, it was pretty fun to race and to be on the line with the other girls. We had moto at 11:30 and 14:00 everytime so our day was done at 14:30 and we could chill around and sell wristband to help our purse grow. I am defenitlygonna ride again in 2014 if its possible J

How is it to organize something for girls? Does it take a lot of your time?

It does take lots of your time but when you like it, it seems easier I guess. I putted lot of time this year but maybe not as much as I wanted. Sponsors were hard to get and we had to work twice as hard as last year to get what we got. I had help from a lot of racers, especially Brittany Thompson who was my Ontarien helper. I couldn’t have made it without her.

Anything new for the 2014?

We don’t know yet, it’s pretty early to say anything, but I can see the series growing a little more again. We are for sure not going backward but forward. They may be talking about a coast to coast serie but its just talks. I would be pump to go out west next year for sure but rider’s opinions are varied about that subject.  For me the best thing we could at least do next year is a 4 rounds series.
